Jazmin Ghent-Jackson, Ph.D., is an award-winning international jazz saxophonist and educator, rapidly becoming a leading voice in contemporary jazz, R&B and gospel. Her rise began in 2014 at the Smooth Jazz Cruise’s Show Your Talent competition. Ghent’s third album, The Story of Jazz, earned her a prestigious NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Jazz Album in 2019, and her fourth, Forever Jaz, garnered another nomination in 2022. She has also been recognized by the Smooth Jazz Network, earning Best Artist of the Year nominations and winning Best New Smooth Jazz Artist in 2017.

Pieces of a dream emerged out of Philadelphia’s music scene in 1976. The group based their name on “Pieces of Dreams,” a cover tune by Stanley Turrentine that the group performed. After quickly becoming popular around Philadelphia, the trio landed a spot as the house band for a local television show called City Lights.

They’re usually found accompanying the world’s greatest smooth jazz artists when they play at PizzaExpress Live. But both guys have now got smooth jazz chart successes of their own. And last year they sold out two nights in their own right. In fact, there was a waiting list. So be sure that you don’t miss out this time around. And in addition to the music, of course there’s the banter. Which is always ruthless and nonstop.
Also playing will be Orefo Orakwue on bass, Westley Joseph on drums, and introducing Simply Red’s musical director Ian Kirkham on sax.
